This group of Microsoft Alumni and current Microsoft Executives, each with a unique blend of real-world viewpoints grounded in business, research, and, philanthropy, help guide the Foundation by driving a comprehensive framework for handling emerging issues and shaping our future.

  • Jeff Raikes Jeff Raikes

    Chair

    Jeff Raikes joined the Microsoft Alumni Foundation as Chair of the Board October 9, 2008. He has his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering-Economics Systems (EES) from Stanford University. After a brief stint with Apple Computer, Raikes joined Microsoft in 1981 as a product manager. He was named president of the Microsoft Business Division in 2005.

  • Akhtar Badshah Akhtar Badshah

    Vice President

    Akhtar Badshah current role is as the senior director of Global Community Affairs at Microsoft Corporation, where he administers the company’s global community investment and employee programs. Through monetary grants, software and curriculum donations, technology solutions, and employee volunteer hours.

  • Chuck Hirsch Chuck Hirsch

    Vice President

    Chuck Hirsch is a founding Partner of MHz International Group, LLC, a strategic advisory firm focused on U.S.-China privatization opportunities. He served for six years as a Managing Director of Madrona Venture Group. Prior to this he co-founded Dare to Dream Intertainment, which was acquired by Microsoft Corporation.

  • Craig Bruya Craig Bruya

    Treasurer

    Craig Bruya is retired from Microsoft Corporation, most recently as chief financial officer of Microsoft Business Solutions. During a three-year sabbatical, he taught accounting and management classes to M.B.A. students at Seattle University and the University of Washington.

  • Sharon Maghie Sharon Maghie

    Secretary

    Sharon Maghie retired from Microsoft in 2000 after 14 years in Finance and Human Resources. Prior to leaving, she served as Director of Human Resources' Operations, where she managed Benefits, Employee Stock Services, Payroll, Expatriate Programs, and the Human Resources Information Center.

  • Tony Audino Tony Audino

    Trustee, Co-Founder

    Tony Audino is the founding president of the Microsoft Alumni Foundation where he currently sits on the board. Audino also founded the Microsoft Alumni Network (MSA) which was one of the first formal online alumni communities.

  • Carla Lewis Carla Lewis

    Trustee

    One of the founding members of Washington Women's Foundation in 1995, Carla became President in April 2008. In addition to her 25-year career working in senior management positions in strategic planning, business management, finance, treasury and communications at Paccar and Microsoft, Carla has extensive experience in the nonprofit arena.

    Trustee

    Paul Shoemaker is Executive Director of Social Venture Partners Seattle; a Seattle non-profit focused on children, education, and the environment in the fulfillment of two missions – helping non-profits build their organizational capacity and catalyzing individual, engaged philanthropy.

  • Brad Smith Brad Smith

    Trustee, Microsoft Board Rep

    Brad Smith is Microsoft's General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs. He is responsible for Microsoft’s legal work and for government, industry, and community affairs activities. He is also the company’s corporate secretary and chief compliance officer.

  • Dawn Trudeau Dawn Trudeau

    Trustee

    Dawn Trudeau is currently serving as Chairperson of Force 10 Hoops LLC (ownership group of the Seattle Storm). Trudeau spent over 20 years in the software industry including 14 years at Microsoft, where she led divisions in Database and Development tools as well as Consumer Products. For the past 10 years she has worked with emerging non-profits to build organizational capacity and sustainability.
